It’s naive to think these people are playing by the rules. If they’re trying to do a merger, then they’ve already payed off all the necessary people.
I’m curious, how much did that judge cost?
Remember when AT&T (Ma Bell) was broken up not too long ago for being a monopoly?
And then there were….four! four! media companies left
Must be a good thing because Trump was against this.
I’m sure this asshat got a third vacation home out of the deal.
Don’t care, still gonna use my VPN and Deluge, worst case scenario will shut off my internet completely and will stick to my mobile internet!!! Fark the Monopoly!!!
Canada here – these kinds of monopolies suck major ass.
Yes, yes. let them build up. Let them get big.
Just in time for the death of net neutrality. Yay! /s
Ah, I remember the good old days, when Microsoft was the big evil.
Those who do not remember the lessons of AOL/Time Warner are doomed to repeat them.
That federal judge definitely has to be bought off.
Where the fuck is Teddy Roosevelt when you need him?
So r/technology agrees with Trump on something?
Huge win for pirating services.
“Federal judge gets a new boat.”
Nice, you make two awful companies into one bigger, better! Worse company! Nothing can go wrong.. /s
Anyone else for some trust-busting legislation at this point? Big Tech is getting a bit too large imo.
Thank goodness for Net Neutrality.
Not surprised by this ruling especially since some officials got involved in the worst ways possible. The funny thing is, is that the more media consolidates, the less people seem to watch as indie and smaller vendors take over, so I only foresee that trend continue with AT&T failing to make the profits and promises made to their shareholders over this acquisition.
Didn’t Trump say he wouldn’t approve this[?](http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2016/10/22/trump_promises_to_block_atttime_warner_deal_break_up_comcast.html)
I don’t see any possible way in which this could be bad for anyone. Who doesn’t love having even larger conglomerates controlling everything we see?
Anyone with DirecTV… how has service been since at$t bought it?
This uh, seems like a bad thing for consumers.
